Day 01: Arrive at Paro International Airport and Cultural Sightseeing at Paro

Take in the spectacular aerial view of the valley as you approach Paro International Airport. Assigned tour guide and driver will greet tourists on arrival at the airport and drive to the hotel. In the afternoon travellers will explore the beautiful Paro valley. Some of the highlights include National Museum, Paro Dzong and drive north of Paro town and visit the Drugyel Dzong. On a clear weather day, tourists can see the Mount Jomolhari.

Day 02: Hike to Taktsang Monastery

The highlight of the trip is the hike to the Tiger’s Nest. Tourists will drive up to the base of the monastery and a two hour hike awaits. Refreshment will be served on the way up at the cafeteria where tourists can take in a close up view of the Tiger’s Nest perched on a cliff. After the short break, continue the hike and on arrival at the monastery, tourists will visit the shrine. After the exploration, tourists will descend back to the cafeteria where lunch is served. After lunch, tourists will descend back to the base and onwards to the hotel.

Day 03: Drive to Punakha District

Early morning drive towards Punakha valley after breakfast at the hotel. One and half hour into the journey, tourists will arrive at Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3050 meters. On clear weather day tourists will be greeted with a jaw dropping snowcapped eastern Himalayan range.

After a brief stop, tourists will continue their journey towards Punakha. En route tourists will visit the popular temple of fertility, Chimi Lhakhang. In the afternoon, tourists will visit the Punakha Dzong. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04: Excursion to Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten in Punakha

The idyllic Khamsum Yulley Namgyel Chorten is built on a ridge in the northern countryside of Punakha valley. It takes 30 minute drive to reach the countryside from Punakha town and the journey continues for another 45 minutes on foot. Hikers will start the hike through the paddy fields. The way the terraces are built fed by the irrigation channel, hiking during the plantation or the harvesting season offers a scenic view of the countryside. At the base of the hill, the real trail begins through the pine forests. Upon arrival hikers can enjoy the spectacular view of the valley below.

Day 05: Excursion to Limbhukha

Tourists will go on a six hour hike to Limbukha community in Punakha. Tourists will cross across the Pho Chhu River on the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan. Trail takes tourists through the forests up the hill. As tourists gain elevation, the view of the valley below becomes stunning. According to the historical account, during the times of war in the ancient times, people from this community always volunteered as peace negotiator. In a local festival, the men are seen carrying a peace flags instead of swords.

Hike back to the hotel.

Day 06: Drive to Phobjikha Valley

Lunch is served on arrival at Phobjikha valley. In the afternoon, tourists will visit the Gangtey Goemba. After the visit, tourists can take a walk around this idyllic valley. Phobjikha has multiple nature trails. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Halt at Phobjikha Valley

Tourists can relax and explore the community and the valley. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08: Drive back to Thimphu and explore the capital city

It will be a five hour drive back to the capital city. In the afternoon tourists will visit Kuensel Phodrang nature park and the Folk Heritage Museum. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 09: Drive to Paro Airport

Drive to Paro international airport for your onward departure flight.
